Missions

CCC has a passion for reaching the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Accordingly, we are substantially invested in missionary endeavors overseas. Currently, we are supporting various ministries in Tarapoto Peru. In addition to regular financial support, CCC periodically sends short term mission teams to minister to the churches in Tarapoto and the surrounding villages.

Two of our members, Tim and Jasmine Alberino, have moved to Tarapoto to become long term missionaries there. Tim and Jasmine have a heart for the city and a vision to see the establishment of a 24-hour house of prayer called T-hop (Tarapoto House Of Prayer). They are also working to help the poor of Tarapoto by developing a plot of land (purchased in large part by CCC) to be a self-sustaining compound where many of the poorer Peruvian "gypsies" could live and be discipled in the faith.

Tarapoto known as The Palm Tree City is a thriving commercial city in northern Peru, an hour by plane from Lima, situated in the San Martín Province of the San Martín Region, located to the east in what is known as the selva baja. Although Moyobamba is the capital of the region, Tarapoto is its largest city, and is linked to the Upper Amazon and the historic city of Yurimaguas by now a maintained transandean road. The city is 350 meters above sea level and has a population of over 108,042 inhabitants. It was founded in 1782 by Baltazar Martínez Jiménez de Compagnon.Tarapoto is often used by tourists and visitors as a "jumping off" point for excursions into the Amazon Rainforest. The main activities are tourism, commerce and agriculture.
